HER CHANGING FACES

ARTIST STATEMENT

HER CHANGING FACES is a series of short experimental film pieces I created many moons ago while pursuing a career in acting. After a multitude of discouraging experiences I realized I needed to stop asking for permission to play the roles I wanted to play and create them for myself. Inspired by song lyrics and existing films, each moving portrait, each "face" is a proudly imperfect experimentation of character and emotion. Each is a unique celebration of the female experience and a part of my journey into directing. Each face is a part of me.
